What is corten steel plate?

Corten-A corrosion-resistant steel plate (corrosion-tensile steel) is the abbreviation of atmospheric-corrosion-resistant, high-strength steel. Corten-A, weathering steel, is made by adding a little copper, chromium, phosphorus, and other elements to ordinary steel, and is made by special treatment. Its weathering and corrosion resistance is three to eight times higher than ordinary steel. According to different types and uses, Corten-A can be divided into four types: COR-TEN A, COR-TEN B, COR-TEN C, COR-TEN B-QT. Among them, the weather resistance and corrosion resistance of COR-TEN A is five to eight times better than that of ordinary steel, while COR-TEN B is four times better.

Main applications of Corten steel sheet

It is widely used in the production of train carriages, containers and bridges. Corten steel sheet is used as a building facade material, and has a certain history in North America, Western Europe, Australia and Asia, Japan and South Korea. The earliest example is the Chicago Civic Center Building built in 1965. Corten steel sheet can be used as a facade material. Compared with ordinary steel, Corten steel sheet has superior corrosion resistance.
