1.Brief introduction of carbon steel pipe
Carbon steel pipes are made of steel ingots or solid round steels through perforation into capillary tubes, which are then hot-rolled, cold-rolled or cold-drawn. Carbon steel pipes are made of high-quality structural steels such as 10#, 20#, 30#, and 45#, low-alloy structural steels such as 16Mn and 5MnV, or alloy steels such as 40Cr, 30CrMnSi, 45Mn2, and 40MnB, which are hot-rolled or cold-rolled. Seamless pipes made of mild steel are mainly used for fluid transmission pipelines. Seamless pipes made of medium carbon steel are used to manufacture mechanical parts, such as the stressed parts of automobiles and tractors. Generally, carbon steel pipes are used to ensure the strength and flattening test. Hot-rolled steel pipes are delivered in a hot-rolled state or heat-treated state, and cold-rolled steel pipes are delivered in a heat-treated state.
2.Carbon steel pipe classification
This picture shows hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel pipes, respectively. According to different processing techniques, carbon steel pipes can be divided into two categories: hot-rolled and cold-rolled (drawn) steel pipes.
(1) Hot-rolled carbon steel pipes
Hot-rolled carbon steel pipes are divided into general steel pipes, low and medium pressure boiler steel pipes, high pressure boiler steel pipes, alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, petroleum cracking pipes, geological steel pipes and other steel pipes.
(2) Cold-rolled (dial) carbon steel pipes
Cold-rolled carbon steel pipes are divided into general steel pipes, low and medium pressure boiler steel pipes, high pressure boiler steel pipes, alloy steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, oil cracking pipes, and other steel pipes, as well as carbon thin-walled steel pipes. Steel pipe, alloy thin-walled steel pipe, stainless thin-walled steel pipe, special-shaped steel pipe. The outer diameter of hot-rolled seamless pipes is generally greater than 32mm, and the wall thickness is 2.5-75mm. The outer diameter of cold-rolled seamless pipes can reach 6mm and the wall thickness can reach 0.25mm. The outer diameter of thin-walled pipes can reach 5mm and the wall thickness is less than 0.25mm. Cold rolling has higher dimensional accuracy than hot rolling.
3.Carbon steel pipe processing method
The raw material of carbon steel pipe is a round tube blank, which is cut by a cutting machine into a billet with a length of about 1 meter, and sent to a furnace for heating through a conveyor belt. The billets are fed into the furnace and heated at about 1200 degrees Celsius. The fuel is hydrogen or acetylene. After the round tube blank is released from the furnace, it is pierced through a pressure punching machine. After perforation, the round tube blank is successively cross-rolled, continuously rolled or extruded by three rolls. After extrusion, the tube should be removed and sizing. The sizing machine rotates into the steel billet at high speed through the conical drill bit to punch holes to form steel pipes. The inner diameter of carbon steel pipe is determined by the outer diameter length of the drill bit of the sizing machine. After the steel pipe is sizing, it enters the cooling tower and is cooled by water spray. After the steel pipe is cooled, it will be straightened. After straightening, the steel pipe is sent to the metal flaw detector (or hydraulic test) by the conveyor belt for internal flaw detection. If there are cracks, bubbles and other problems inside the steel pipe, it will be detected. After the steel pipe quality inspection, it must pass strict manual selection. After the quality inspection of the steel pipe, the serial number, specification, production batch number, etc. are sprayed with paint.
4.The difference between carbon steel pipe and stainless steel pipe
(1) The composition is different
Carbon steel pipe, also known as carbon steel pipe, is made of high-quality carbon-structured steel or low-alloy structural steel such as 16Mn and 5MnV or hot-rolled or cold-rolled alloy steel such as 40Cr, 30CrMnSi, 45Mn2, and 40MnB. Stainless steel pipe is a kind of nickel-chromium steel, in addition to carbon and iron, there are nickel, chromium, manganese, copper and other elements.
(2) Different uses
Carbon steel pipes are mainly used in industries such as fluid pipelines and manufacturing machinery parts. The surface of the stainless steel tube can be processed in various ways, such as mirror surface, bright surface, brushed surface, etc., so the stainless steel tube is generally used for decorative tubes, prop tubes, and product tubes.
(3) The price is different
The price of stainless steel pipe is much higher than that of carbon steel pipe.
